Sprite Forge is a plugin that brings 2D asset creation directly into Unreal Engine 5!

Create, edit, and iterate on sprites, animations, palettes, layers, and supporting 2D content without leaving the editor.

Sprite Forge is built for developers who want a faster, more integrated workflow. Instead of constantly moving assets back and forth between external art tools and Unreal, Sprite Forge lets you work natively inside UE5 so your art pipeline stays in one place. Whether you are building pixel art, animated sprites, UI elements, effects frames, or other 2D game assets, Sprite Forge is designed to make the process feel familiar, flexible, and production-friendly.

The goal is simple: give Unreal Engine a true in-editor 2D creation suite.

With Sprite Forge, you can work with layered documents, animation timelines, brushes, palettes, reference images, selection tools, and more, all inside a workflow designed specifically for Unreal Engine. It is intended to help solo developers, indie teams, and tool-heavy pipelines reduce friction and stay focused on creating.

DISCLAIMER: The product has been validated in a Windows/Linux environment from the view of a pixel art/2D game development perspective. Although the product can do much more, we have 2 developers (1 programmer/1 part time artist), and allot of features that needed testing. Sprite Forge is in Alpha as of this time.
